Here are some general rules regarding conduct during
the Live Action Role Playing Game
- No running
- This means moving faster than at
a walking pace.
- If you are caught running you will be warned once.
- The next time we will ask you where the fire is
and get security.
- After that we will turn you over to security.
- No touching
- This doesn't mean that you can't hold your boyfriend/girlfriend/ wife/husband’s
hand. It DOES mean that you cannot strike, kick, punch, bite,
grapple, perform any acts of harassment or barbarism or show off the
latest judo hold you just learned on the person you are talking to in
the game.
- If you do this you
will go to jail…the REAL jail in Collinsville. You will not
pass Go. You will not collect 200 dollars and your game and
convention will be over.
- You will lose major
coolness points at Archon and any other convention we attend or
run our games at..we really do have friends in Fandom that don't
game. We will let them know what a weenie you are.
- Do not block the hallways.
If there is a crowd, move somewhere where you will not block access
for other guests in the hotel. It can also become a fire hazard.
This especially includes any situation in which a policeman/fireman/medical
technician tells you to please stand aside. See Rule 2A if you choose
not to obey a legally, lawfully binding order.
- Obey hotel and convention
security at all times.
- Drug usage is prohibited!
- We do not care if you responsibly drink alcohol
but you MUST be 21 to drink.
- If you are drunk, your character is drunk
- If we feel or see that you are using any illegal
substance then you will be asked to leave the game and possibly
the convention. There is a possiblity of going to the hospital
or we may have to refer you to Rule 2a.
- Under all circumstances decisions
by all Storytellers are final.
- You are allowed one immediate appeal to the Storyteller
that made the decision.
- If you feel there is something they overlooked
or are unaware of, notify them.
- At that time, they may refer to the character sheets
and/or confer with other Storytellers in the area to reach a final
decision.
- No
one will overturn another Storyteller's decision after it has been made
final.
- Circumventing this
rule can result in expulsion from the game.
- Consider the Storyteller’s
decision to be Britt’s decision in all cases
- Some rulings may
appear wrong or out of place, these are made on occasion to further
the game or enhance playability.
- Verbal abuse is not permitted.
This includes players and Storytellers.
- This can result
in expulsion from the game and convention. In extreme circumstances
refer to Rule 2a and 2b.
- Quitting or abandoning the game
without notifying a Storyteller is frowned upon.
- This will result
in us notifying Gaming HQ where you will be treated as if you were
a GM not showing up to run a scheduled game. This includes
signing up for the game and not attending the pregame briefing meeting.
- Exception:
Medical or family emergencies. (Yes, this has happened)
- Note:
Do NOT get discouraged just because you didn’t get a Salubri Antitribu
or the Silver Plated H.I.T.-Mark. Remember that even in the book
‘Dracula’ not everyone is a vampire. In nine of eleven LARPS
we have staged, a human character has won the ‘Best Player Award’.
-
If you are
lost or confused during the game, PLEASE ask any Storyteller to help
you.
Just like a good play or a movie you don’t know EVERYTHING in the
first scene.
By design you are lost at the beginning of the story and gain more
information through role-playing and interaction with the other characters.
In any case, we will do our best to help you along or to explain
things that you may not understand..this is especially true if you
have never played in the World
of Darkness (tm) before.
- This storyline is entirely
self contained.
Each and every character has a purpose in the game. Unlike any
ongoing game, we do our best to have a beginning, middle and end to
our yearly story by the end of our time limit.
- Have fun.
If you are not for any reason having fun,
consult a Storyteller. They will do their best to help. We like
to run our LARPs so that everyone has fun. If you aren't having fun
we aren't doing our job. We have WAYS of making you have fun..trust
us...really..stop laughing..well ok, but we think you get the point.
- Here are your free hints:
- Trust no one.
- There is safety
in numbers.
- Refer to rule 12
OFTEN
- Remember that IT’S
ONLY A GAME!
